Dubious Forms, Sydney Pink
Il n'y a pas que Design Art ce mois-ci (oups pardon, Le Pavillon des Arts et du Design...). Après Londres la semaine prochaine, on ira aussi courir en Allemagne pour Illustrative, la mecque de l'art graphique. Après deux stop over à Paris et Zürich les années précédentes, le festival retourne à Berlin. La crème des jeunes graphistes, visual artists et tout le tralala s'y donnent rendez-vous. On y retrouvera des masters comme Keiichi Tanaami et surtout des nouvelles pousses, que les pros et amateurs viennent dénicher en masse. Dans le tas, Sidney Pink et Nigel Evan Dennis sont des plus prometteurs.
Tandis que l'américain-japonais de coeur Sydney Pink, remarqué très tôt par Takashi Murakami, tend une subtile passerelle en mode pastel entre banalité et fantastique, Nigel Evan Dennis rend sympathique n'importe quelle forme géométrique et fait valser Pythagore pour Skinny Fingers, le clip du groupe A Lull (à visionner ci-dessous)...
Et si on échangeait ses billets de train pour Berlin?

There is not only Design Art on this month (oh excuse me, "Pavilion of Arts & Design" as it is called now). After running to London next week, Germany hosts Illustrative, the most influent graphic art event in Europe. After two stop overs being in Paris and Zürich these past years, the festival is finally back in Berlin. The cream of the crop amongst the young graphic designers, visual artists and all the european hip crowd have it in red on their agendas. The numerous professionals and amateurs will be there to find the masters attending the event such as Keiichi Tanaami and of course the new-comers; the most promising are Sidney Pink and Nigel Evan Dennis.
The American yet Japanese influenced Sydney Pink, who was spotted early by Takashi Murakami, creates a connecting rainbow in soft pastel color between the ordinary and science fiction and "kawaï bizzare"; whilst Nigel Evan Dennis brings harmony to any geometric figure and swings triangles for the needs A Lull's Skinny Fingers video clip (see below)...
